Police have arrested two people in Savar over the alleged forgery of the President’s signature and official seal. The suspects allegedly forged the signature and seal to secure approval for a proposed ad-hoc committee.

The arrestees are Mohammad Niamatullah, 50, acting principal of Tahfizul Quranil Karim Fazil Madrasa, and Syed Sanjid, 45, the institution’s deputy director (administration).

According to police, the madrasa authorities prepared an application on the institution’s official letterhead seeking approval for a proposed ad-hoc committee. The suspects allegedly forged the President’s signature and official seal on the application and submitted it, along with the committee list, to the Islamic Arabic University in Bosila, Dhaka.
