Television presenter Deepti Chowdhury has drawn attention on social media after sharing an emotional message to her husband just hours after their wedding, using a line inspired by a well-known dialogue from author Humayun Ahmed.
The post, accompanied by several wedding photographs, was published on her social media account following her marriage ceremony. In the message, she wrote: “Master Sahib, you have shed two tears for me. In return, I shall weep for lifetimes.”
The post quickly circulated online and prompted widespread discussion, with many commenting on its language and emotional tone.
The phrase used by Deepti was adapted from a popular dialogue in one of Humayun Ahmed’s novels. The original line reads: “Doctor Sahib, you have shed two tears for me. In return, I shall weep for lifetimes.” In her version, she replaced “Doctor Sahib” with “Master Sahib”, linking the literary reference to her personal life.
Deepti Chowdhury’s marriage ceremony took place on Friday, June 5, at a restaurant in Banglamotor, Dhaka, in the presence of family members, relatives and close associates from both families.
Her husband, Dr Mushtaq Ibn Ayub, is a teacher and researcher. After completing higher studies in the United Kingdom, he earned a PhD from the University of Oxford. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Dhaka.
Later in the evening, Deepti shared additional wedding photographs on Facebook, showing the newlyweds during celebratory moments. However, it was the caption accompanying the images that attracted the most attention.
The comments section of the post was soon filled with congratulatory messages, as colleagues, friends and well-wishers offered their best wishes for the couple’s married life.
Since the wedding news became public, discussion surrounding Deepti Chowdhury and her new chapter in life has continued across social media platforms.
