Two more children have died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours while undergoing treatment with measles symptoms.
New admissions and recoveries were also reported during the same period.
Hospital sources said the deaths occurred between 9am on Monday and 9am on Tuesday.
A six-month-old boy from Dapunia village in Mymensingh Sadar upazila was admitted on 19 May and died on 25 May afternoon while under treatment.
A 10-month-old boy from Dewathan village in Durgapur upazila of Netrokona was admitted on 20 May and died on 26 May morning.
Golam Mawla, focal person of the measles unit at the hospital, confirmed the details.
He said 16 new children were admitted during the last 24 hours. At the same time, 29 children recovered and returned home. Currently, 62 children are receiving treatment at the hospital.
He added that from 17 March to 26 May, a total of 1,609 children were admitted with measles symptoms. Among them, 1,508 children recovered and returned home.
He further said 39 children have died in total among the admitted measles patients up to 25 May.
