MetLife Bangladesh will donate $5 for every football juggling video shared online under a new global campaign, with total contributions reaching up to $1,00,000 for children’s education and sports programmes worldwide.

The insurer launched the “Footwork for Futures” campaign with Global Citizen, asking people to upload short football-themed videos on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and X using the hashtag #FootworkForFutures.

The donations will go to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports grassroots organisations working on education and youth sports access globally.

“Football has the power to unite communities, and when combined with education, it becomes a powerful force for creating opportunity,” said MetLife Bangladesh Chief Executive Officer Ala Ahmad.

“Through Footwork for Futures, we want to make it easy and fun for people in Bangladesh to contribute to a meaningful global cause,” he added.

MetLife said the campaign is part of the MetLife Foundation’s wider $9 million commitment as a founding donor of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The campaign will continue until 19 July or until the donation target is reached, according to a press release.

Participants of any skill level can join the challenge by sharing videos of themselves juggling or attempting to juggle a football.

The company said eligible videos must follow campaign guidelines and social media platform rules.
