Daffodil International University (DIU) marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for newly admitted students with its “Orientation Program Summer 2026” on 11 May 2026. The event, held at the university’s Daffodil Smart City campus, aimed to introduce freshers to the university environment and its vast array of opportunities, said in a press release.
The program was attended by renowned Bangladeshi actor Zahid Hasan, who served as the special guest. DIU’s Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor MR Kabir, chaired the event, while Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, welcomed the freshers via a video message. The event also saw the participation of deans, department heads, faculty members, and administrative officials.
A key highlight of the event was the “Club Recruitment Program,” organised by the Office of Student Affairs. The program featured booths from various university clubs, offering students the opportunity to explore co-curricular activities and join clubs of interest.
The orientation also featured an experience-sharing session with successful alumni from the university’s five faculties. Notable speakers included ASM Arif, Creative Lead at Rancon Auto Division-2; Mehedi Hasan Bappy, Project Coordinator at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN); Nusrat Jahan, Principal Officer at Janata Bank PLC; and A M Tajuddin Ahmed, CEO of Akand Engineering. The speakers shared real-life professional experiences and offered valuable guidance to help students build successful careers. They encouraged students to make the most of the modern technology and facilities available at Daffodil Smart City.
The event kicked off with freshers receiving flowers, and awards were presented to winners of various university sports events. Meritorious students from the previous semester were also recognised for their achievements. The program concluded with an engaging cultural performance by both teachers and students.
DIU authorities expressed hope that the orientation program would help new students adapt quickly to their university environment and support them in achieving their future goals. The event was coordinated and managed by the Office of Student Affairs at Daffodil International University.
