Previously unheard audio recordings of Princess Diana are set to be revealed in a new documentary series exploring her personal reflections on life within the royal family.
The project, titled ‘Diana: The Unheard Truth’ (working title), is being developed by Love Monday TV in collaboration with 53 Degrees Global. It draws on a collection of private recordings made in 1991, when Diana shared her life story in confidence with close friend James Colthurst, which later contributed to the book ‘Diana: Her True Story’ by Andrew Morton.
The series is based on around five hours of previously unreleased material, structured across three episodes. According to the producers, the recordings offer candid insights into Diana’s experiences under intense public scrutiny, her hopes for the future, and her perspectives on key figures in her life.
The production also revisits her views on the shifting dynamics within the royal household, including her relationship with then-Prince Charles and other senior royals.
Executive producers Kerene Barefield and Naveed Chowdhary-Flatt lead the project, with the series currently in development and not yet attached to a broadcaster or streaming platform.
