Police in Eidgaon of Cox’s Bazar have rescued a young man who was abducted, and arrested three people involved in the incident. A CNG-run auto-rickshaw used in the abduction was also seized.
Police said Mohammad Hasan, 28, was forcibly taken away in a CNG vehicle from the old goat market area of Eidgaon Bazar in Cox’s Bazar around 12:30 pm on Friday. He was being taken towards the Eidgarh area of Ramu.
Acting swiftly on information, Eidgaon Police Station launched a drive and rescued Hasan from the Palpara area of Eidgaon Union around 1:30 pm the same day.
During the operation, three individuals — Morshed Alam, 26, Abul Bashar, 50, and Nurul Hakim, 32 — were arrested on charges of involvement in the abduction.
In this connection, victim Mohammad Hasan filed a case with Eidgaon Police Station.
Eidgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge ATM Shifatul Majdar said police were able to rescue the victim immediately after launching an operation upon receiving information about the abduction.
The three accused were produced before a court on Saturday afternoon, he added.
