Mehidy Hasan Miraz feels positive about Tamim Iqbal taking charge as the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. He believes this will help the players.

Tamim now leads the board as head of an ad hoc committee. He left international cricket recently. Many believe this helps him understand the current players better.

He has already spoken with Miraz. He praised the team for their recent form in ODIs. He also asked them to keep playing in the same way.

“Yes, I have spoken with the president. The team is doing well, he has boosted us. We just need to keep playing the way we are playing.”

He also said outside issues do not affect the team.

“We have practiced. What happens outside does not affect us as professional cricketers. Our job is to perform. We have never thought about what has happened outside.”

Miraz said Tamim’s recent playing career is a big advantage.

“Since we have played cricket together, he will understand us better. What we need, what we like… since he has recently left the game, it is a positive thing for the players.”
