Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the current war situation is beyond Bangladesh’s control; if it continues, the country’s economy will come under increasing pressure.
He said that so far, the government has shielded the public from the direct impact of the conflict but urged everyone to remain prudent in facing future challenges.
Speaking to journalists at his residence in Chattogram on Sunday morning, the minister explained that the government has identified alternative sources to tackle the energy crisis.
Efforts to procure fuel from different sources are still ongoing, and the government aims to manage the situation through careful planning.
He added that during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr, the people did not face any fuel-related difficulties and were able to celebrate the festival freely.
He also exchanged Eid greetings with party leaders and activists.
