As Ramadan evenings turn into busy shopping hours across Bangladesh, more consumers are turning to online marketplaces to prepare for Eid-ul-Fitr.
For e-commerce platform Daraz Bangladesh, the festival period has become one of the most important seasons of the year, with daily order volumes rising sharply as families shop for clothing, electronics, household goods and everyday essentials.
Orders during the Eid shopping season have grown by about 30 to 50 per cent compared with regular days, reflecting the increasing role of online platforms in the country’s retail landscape, Daraz Bangladesh Chief Corporate Affairs Officer A H M Hasinul Quddus Rusho said.
“This Eid, Daraz saw a strong increase in order volumes, with daily growth of around 30–50 per cent compared to regular days,” Rusho said.
Eid continues to be a key shopping season in Bangladesh, with customers increasingly choosing online platforms for convenience, trusted products and secure digital payments, he said.
At a time when the fuel situation has made travel more difficult, online shopping has also provided customers with added ease by allowing them to shop from home.
Through a range of Eid promotions, Daraz aimed to ensure customers could access essential products at competitive prices while enjoying a smooth and reliable shopping experience.
