The written examination for the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) will commence on 9 April, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) announced on Wednesday.
The schedule was confirmed in a notification issued by the commission, PSC Secretariat Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman.
According to the PSC, candidates who require a scribe for the written examination must submit applications by 10 March.
As per the commission’s tentative timeline, the written examinations will begin on 9 April, with results expected on 30 July.
Viva voce examinations are scheduled to start on 10 August, and the final results are likely to be published on 25 November.
The preliminary test for the 50th BCS was held on 30 January, and the results were announced on 10 February.
A total of 12,385 candidates passed the preliminary stage.
The PSC issued the circular for the 50th BCS on 26 November to fill 2,150 posts – 1,755 in various cadres and 395 in non-cadre positions. Applications were accepted from 4 to 31 December.
The highest number of appointments will be made in the health cadre (650 posts), followed by the administration cadre (200 posts). The education cadre will recruit 185 officers.
The commission has said it aims to complete the entire recruitment process within one year.
Both the preliminary and written examinations will be held in eight divisional cities, while the viva voce will take place at the PSC headquarters. No requests for change of examination centre will be considered.
