Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Naznin Niha, a popular on-screen pair, are set to star in three major new television dramas produced by Zakaria Soukhin. The combined budget for the three projects is reported to be several crores of taka.
Last year, the Apurba-Niha pairing received widespread acclaim with Jakaria Showkhin’s ‘Mon Duari’. Their subsequent drama, ‘Meghbalika’, also captured audience attention. Continuing this trend, their latest project, ‘Mayapakhi’, is scheduled for release during Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 and anticipation among viewers is already high.
Following Mayapakhi, the duo will feature in two further dramas, ‘Durer Manush’ and ‘Bhalo Acho To’, both of which are produced on a large scale with distinct love stories. Shooting for these dramas is currently underway.
Apurba returned from a tour of the US to begin filming under Showkhin’s direction, with plans to release the dramas at festivals following Eid.
In addition, Soukhin is releasing ‘Je Kotha Hoyni Bola’, starring Jovan and Niha, on Valentine’s Day. He also has two more projects planned this year, ‘Pothe Holo Dekha’ and ‘Bondhu Chirokal’.
Showkhin commented that working with Apurba and Niha is always a unique experience. “The audience has enjoyed their chemistry before. In these three new dramas, I have aimed to diversify the stories and characters so viewers can see the familiar pair in fresh ways,” he said
