A mild 4.0 magnitude earthquake was felt in Sylhet on Tuesday at 5:32 pm.
The epicentre is in close proximity to the Dauki Fault Line area in the Gowainghat upazila of Sylhet.
Shah Mohammad Sajeeb Hossain, Assistant Meteorologist at the Sylhet Meteorological Office, confirmed the incident, stating that the earthquake was felt in Sylhet and surrounding areas.
The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.0 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre situated in Gowainghat, approximately 214 kilometres north-east of Dhaka.
Authorities have reported that no damage or casualties have been reported following the earthquake.
Earlier, on 1 February, a mild earthquake measuring around 3.0 on the Richter scale was felt in Sylhet and neighbouring areas during the early hours.
