The interim government’s Advisory Council is set to hold its final meeting on Monday.
Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan confirmed the development to TIMES of Bangladesh in the morning.
The session marks the last meeting of the advisory council before the 13th parliamentary election on 12 February.
Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to chair the meeting, which comes as part of the government’s concluding activities ahead of the handover of responsibilities to the elected administration.
Yunus is also scheduled to hold a meeting with the secretaries around 10:15am at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Dhaka’s Tejgaon.
He is expected to deliver a farewell speech to the secretaries, discuss various issues, and possibly announce the formal conclusion of the government’s activities.
The interim government was formed on 8 August 2024, following the fall of Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government.
