Dominican Republic contestant Joheirry Mola has won the Miss World 2026 crown at the grand final in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
She emerged victorious from a field of 111 contestants. Mola previously won the Miss World Dominican Republic 2025 title, earning the chance to represent her country internationally.
A teacher, journalist, social worker and model, Mola runs an initiative called Voice of Tomorrow. The programme provides English lessons to disadvantaged children and young people while helping them build confidence and develop useful skills.
Spain’s Elisabeth Reynés finished as the first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty was named second runner-up.
The final began with the announcement of the top 40 contestants, followed by the selection of the top 20, top 12 and top six. The finalists then faced several rounds of competition and questions from the judges before the winner was announced.
Miss World, founded in the United Kingdom in 1951 by Eric Morley, is the world’s oldest international beauty pageant. Contestants compete through preliminary challenges, private interviews and live stage events.
This year’s competition included first-time participants from French Guiana, Eritrea, Mozambique, Pakistan and the Maldives.
Ecuador’s Samantha Quenedit, Armenia’s Monika Harutjunjan and Togo’s Nadiratou Afolabi withdrew from the pageant.
The contestants were divided into four continental regions: Africa, the Americas and the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania.
Bangladesh’s Samanzar Sayeed reached the top six in her continental region in the Beauty with a Purpose segment but did not advance to the final top 40.
