Zubaida Rahman, wife of the BNP Chairman, has provided humanitarian assistance to the victims of a devastating fire in the Bhasantek area of the capital, under the Dhaka-17 constituency.
She personally engaged in relief activities to assist families who lost their homes, furniture, and essential household items in the blaze. Many affected households have been plunged into severe hardship, and the relief efforts aimed to address their immediate needs.
On Saturday, Zubaida visited the scene where many families had lost their homes and all their possessions in the blaze.
To alleviate the humanitarian crisis, she directly conducted aid activities and distributed essential gift items among the affected families to help them meet their immediate daily requirements.
In addition to the distribution of relief goods, significant importance was placed on the healthcare of the victims.
A medical camp was established in the area, where experienced physicians conducted health screenings for affected women, children, and the elderly. Necessary medicines were also provided to those in need.
The integrated aid and medical programme was welcomed by local residents as a notable humanitarian gesture following the sudden disaster.
BNP Chairman’s Adviser Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam, Dr Forhad Halim Donor, and various local leaders were also present during the activity.
