At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute at Sadhukhali village in Shailkupa upazila on Thursday morning.
According to local sources, a long-standing dispute had been persisting between Shahidul Master and the duo Nur Ali and Badsha over a piece of land.
The confrontation began when the supporters of Nur Ali and Badsha attempted to take possession of the land, prompting resistance from Shahidul Master’s followers.
The ensuing clash left at least 20 people from both sides injured. The victims were rescued and subsequently admitted to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital and Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Upon receiving the news, Shailkupa Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
Humayun Kabir Molla, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shailkupa Police Station, stated that additional police personnel have been deployed to the area as extreme tension continues to prevail.
