The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 1,573 cases on Tuesday during a city-wide operation against traffic violations. T
The police provided this information in a press release on Wednesday.
According to the release, the Traffic-Ramna Division filed 105 cases, which included seven buses, four covered vans, 13 CNGs, and 29 motorcycles. The Traffic-Lalbagh Division filed 119 cases, which included four buses, seven trucks, two covered vans, 10 CNGs, and 77 motorcycles.
In the Traffic-Motijheel Division, a total of 203 cases were filed, including eight buses, two trucks, 18 covered vans, 61 CNGs, and 94 motorcycles. The Traffic-Wari Division filed 92 cases, including nine buses, 12 trucks, four covered vans, 14 CNGs, and 30 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, the Traffic-Tejgaon Division filed 166 cases, which involved three buses, three trucks, 11 covered vans, 24 CNGs, and 89 motorcycles. The Traffic-Mirpur Division registered 552 cases, which included four buses, 14 trucks, 18 covered vans, 70 CNGs, and 350 motorcycles.
Additionally, the Traffic-Uttara Division filed 158 cases, including eight buses, 10 trucks, 13 covered vans, 19 CNGs, and 55 motorcycles. The Traffic-Gulshan Division filed 178 cases, involving four buses, one truck, 12 covered vans, six CNGs, and 63 motorcycles.
As part of the operation, 413 vehicles were dumped, and 155 vehicles were towed, confirmed the DMP.
The DMP has assured that its efforts to maintain traffic discipline in Dhaka will continue.
