The BPL final is set to get underway at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, with Chattogram Royals winning the toss against Rajshahi Warriors and opting to field. Rajshahi will open the batting.
The title clash begins at 6:00 PM at Mirpur. This season, the two finalists have met three times. In the league stage, both teams claimed one win each. Rajshahi, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, finished top of the table, while Chattogram, captained by Sheikh Mehedi, secured second place and progressed to the playoffs.
In the first Qualifier, Chattogram defeated Rajshahi to reach the final, while Rajshahi seized their second chance by overcoming Sylhet Titans in the second Qualifier to book their place.
Chattogram captain confident ahead of final
Before the match, Chattogram captain Sheikh Mehedi said:
“Having reached the final, why shouldn’t we dream of lifting the trophy? Everyone will be watching. Ultimately, the team that performs better will play the superior cricket. Every department that contributes well will decide the winner. I believe every player wants the trophy – that hunger is there in everyone. Hope for the best! Let’s see what happens today.”
Despite his optimism, Mehedi praised the opposition:
“Rajshahi is one of the strongest teams in the BPL – very well-balanced. They have excellent players in every department and have performed consistently throughout the tournament.”
