Bangladesh-based label Qinetic Music has unveiled a new single, ‘Shohag’, bringing together Bollywood composer Tanishk Bagchi and Ivorian singer KikiMoteleba in a cross-continental collaboration.
The release marks Bagchi’s return to Bangladesh, where his professional career began with a debut album in 2007, years before he became one of Bollywood’s most-streamed hitmakers. Nearly two decades on, Shohag reconnects him with the Bangladeshi music scene, this time through a sound aimed at international audiences.
The track combines Bangla lyrical expression with global pop structures and Afro-inspired rhythms, reflecting a wider shift in Bangladeshi music towards outward-facing collaborations. KikiMoteleba’s contribution adds a distinct African pop flavour. The singer previously found international success with Tigini, which went viral on TikTok and YouTube and later earned Gold certification in Spain.
The accompanying music video is directed by Indian filmmaker Thejo Bharathwaj, known for his visually driven storytelling and viral Tamil hit Aasa Kooda. His cinematic approach gives the project a polished, narrative-led presentation.
Qinetic Music said the collaboration reflects its aim to position Bangladeshi music within a global context while continuing to support local creativity.
