Police arrested 11 people during a special operation in the capital’s Rupnagar area, Dhaka Metropolitan Police said on Monday.
The arrests were made during a drive conducted by Rupnagar police in different parts of the area, targeting individuals involved in various criminal activities.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division disclosed the information in a press release.
Those arrested are Md Jewel (20), Md Jabed Hossain alias Roni (25), Md Rakib (19), Md Al Amin (30), Md Mamun (33), Md Aminul (29), Hridoy Sarkar (25), Md Delwar Mollah (42) Md Suman Mollah (32) Md Rubel (28), and Md Kabir Hossain (41).
Rupnagar police said the special operation on Monday targeted various localities within the station’s jurisdiction. Police have produced the suspects before a special metropolitan magistrate for legal proceedings.
Talebur Rahman said police would continue such operations to keep the law and order situation in the area normal.
