Noakhali Express were bowled out for just 61 runs in their Bangladesh Premier League encounter at Sylhet International Stadium, with Nasum Ahmed claiming five wickets for seven runs in a devastating spell that dismantled the batting line-up.
The innings began poorly for Noakhali Express. In the fourth over, they lost two wickets for 28 runs from four balls, and by the seventh over, a further two wickets had fallen. After a brief three-over period without loss, the team appeared to show some resistance at four wickets for 46 runs. However, Nasum Ahmed’s exceptional bowling triggered the collapse, with the last six wickets falling for just 15 runs.
Early breakthroughs included Soumya Sarkar, dismissed at the start of the innings, followed by Haider Ali in the 11th over. In his final over, Nasum removed Mehedy Hasan Rana and Zahir Khan in consecutive deliveries during the 13th over, and took his fifth wicket one ball later. Across four overs, Nasum finished with figures of 5 for 7, conceding only seven runs.
Mohammad Amir accounted for Mahidul Islam Ankon, the innings’ top-scorer with 25 runs, in the 15th over to complete the Noakhali collapse. Only one other batter, Habibur Rahman Sohan, reached double figures, scoring 18.
At 61 all out, this innings ranks as the fourth-lowest total in BPL history. It is the lowest team score in the tournament since Comilla scored 63 against Rangpur in 2019. In comparison, Khulna’s 44-run innings against Rangpur in 2016 remains the lowest overall in the competition.
