BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has offered prayers to the departed soul of his younger brother, Arafat Rahman Koko in Banani graveyard.
He had earlier left the Election Commission (EC) building around 1:20pm on Saturday.
Tarique arrived at the EC around 1pm to complete voter registration-related formalities. His National Identity Card (NID) enrollment process was completed at the Election Commission building, where his fingerprints and iris scan were taken.
Following the completion of the registration process, his motorcade departed the EC premises.
A large number of BNP leaders and activists were seen gathering in the Agargaon area during his departure, creating a noticeable crowd in and around the Election Commission premises.
After leaving the EC, Tarique’s convoy proceeded towards Banani.
It may be noted that Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh on December 25 after spending 17 years and three months in exile. Since his return, he has remained active in political and organisational activities.
