Two Hollywood films arrive on Bangladeshi screens today, 25 September, as Star Cineplex begins screenings of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame Encore and Jason Statham’s action thriller Mutiny.
Avengers: Endgame Encore brings the 2019 blockbuster back with around four minutes of new footage, a new introduction and an additional ending. The special version runs for 185 minutes.
The re-release comes ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, due in December. It gives Marvel fans a chance to revisit Endgame and look for possible links to the MCU’s next chapter.
The original film closed a major phase of the MCU, with key moments including Tony Stark’s sacrifice, Natasha Romanoff’s death, Steve Rogers’ farewell and Captain America wielding Mjolnir. The new footage has sparked curiosity over its possible connection to Doomsday. Its trailer reportedly drew 77 million views in its first 24 hours. Marvel has also prepared 15 films and series for fans revisiting key stories before Doomsday.
Meanwhile, Mutiny stars Statham as Cole Reed, a former New York police officer and special forces operative who now works in private security. After his wealthy industrialist employer is murdered in front of him, Reed gets framed and goes on the run to find the real culprit.
His search takes him aboard a cargo ship, where he uncovers an international conspiracy. Surrounded by mercenaries and criminals, Reed relies on his training to survive. Directed by Jean-François Richet, the film also stars Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller, Adrian Lester, Jason Wong and Arnas Fedaravičius.
Set largely aboard the cargo vessel, Mutiny combines hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, chases and explosions with a fast-paced thriller narrative. Both films begin screening at Star Cineplex today.
