Gana Adhikar Parishad’s General Secretary Rashed Khan will contest the 13th National Parliamentary Election under the “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol, according to the party’s President Nurul Haque Nur.
He shared this information in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday night.
He wrote, “As part of the strategy for electoral victory and in line with the party’s decision, Rashed Khan will contest from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency with the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol.
“Nurul Haque Nur will contest from the Patuakhali-3 constituency with the Gana Adhikar Parishad symbol the Truck.”
As part of the seat-sharing agreement with allied parties, the BNP has allotted the Jhenaidah-4 seat to Gana Adhikar Parishad.
At a press conference last Wednesday, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir formally announced candidates from allied parties for 10 seats.
At that time, he announced Rashed Khan’s name as the Gana Adhikar Parishad candidate for the Jhenaidah-4 constituency.
Since this announcement, a section of local BNP leaders and activists in the Jhenaidah-4 constituency have been expressing dissatisfaction.
