Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has welcomed Tarique Rahman following his return to the country after 17 years in exile.
In a post shared from his verified Facebook page on Thursday, 25 December, Shafiqur extended a welcome to Tarique Rahman and his family, writing: “Tarique Rahman, welcome home with your family!”
He signed the post in English with his name, Dr Shafiqur Rahman, and in Bangla identified himself as “Ameer, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.”
The post was shared on the party’s official page after Tarique Rahman landed in Dhaka.
Earlier on Thursday, at around 11:40am, a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying Tarique Rahman, along with his wife and daughter, landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
