A fire broke out on the eighth floor of the new Cabinet building at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday.
Although three fire service units rushed to the scene, no major action was required. The blaze was extinguished with fire extinguishers.
Officials said the fire originated around 2pm from an electrical fault in a fan outside the building and was brought under control by 2:15pm.
It was learned that immediately after the fire started, everyone working in the building quickly evacuated to the ground floor.
No casualties have been reported so far.
