Following its successful run in Khulna, ‘Delupi’ is now set for a wider release across Bangladesh. The film will hit six cinemas nationwide on November 14.
The theatres screening Delupi in its opening week include Star Cineplex (Bashundhara City Mall) in Dhaka, Lion Cinemas (Keraniganj), Cinescope (Narayanganj), Raj Tilak Cinema Hall and Grand Riverview Cineplex in Rajshahi, and Momo Inn Movie Theatre (Bogra).
Delupi originally premiered in Khulna on November 7. The film marks the feature debut of director Mohammad Taukir Islam, who previously gained attention with his 2022 OTT release ‘Shaaticup’, a Rajshahi-based drama praised by both critics and audiences. His 2024 project ‘Sinpaat’ further established him as a promising young filmmaker.
All the actors featured in Delupi are residents of various unions within Khulna. The cast includes Chiranjit Biswas, Aditi Roy, Rudra Roy, Md Zakir Hossain and several others.
The film has already won over audiences at Liberty Cinema Hall and the District Shilpakala Academy in Khulna. Local exhibitors have noted that such an enthusiastic response to a Khulna-made film has not been seen outside of Eid releases in recent years.
Notably, the promotional campaign for Delupi has also stood out for its creative approach; from the title reveal to the premiere and marketing activities in both Dhaka and Khulna, the team’s efforts have carried a distinctive touch.
