A man, aged around 32, was killed after being run over by a train in Khilkhet area in the capital on Thursday morning.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.
The incident occurred around 6:45am on the railway track near Le Méridien Hotel in Khilkhet.
Upon receiving information, railway police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Sub-Inspector Bashlur Rashid of Dhaka Railway Airport Police Outpost said the man was crossing the track carelessly when the Kamalapur-bound Burimari Express hit him, killing him on the spot.
Efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
