Renata PLC has launched its Amantadine 100mg capsules, branded as Parkadin, in the Nordic market, becoming the first and only registered generic of the drug in Finland, the company said in a stock exchange disclosure on Wednesday.

The medicine was launched simultaneously in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Manufactured at Renata’s European Union–Good Manufacturing Practice certified Rajendrapur General Facility, Parkadin is used for the symptomatic treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

The drug can be administered as monotherapy or alongside Levodopa, a widely used medicine for the same neurological condition.

The launch marks a scale-up of Renata’s footprint in the European pharmaceutical market, particularly in the Nordic region, the disclosure said.

The company described the rollout as part of its strategy to expand global access to high-quality and affordable treatments.

Renata did not provide any commercial projections from the new market entry. Shares of Renata closed 0.2% lower at Tk 390.1 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
