After months of speculation, filmmaker Raihan Rafi has finally unveiled the long-guarded cast of his upcoming supernatural feature, ‘Andhar’. The revelation came during an episode of Geek Myth’s popular podcast, fittingly hosted by musician and co-writer Shakib Chowdhury Raihan Rafi of Cryptic Fate.
Described as a dark, culturally grounded horror tale, Andhar promises to move beyond conventional jump scares to explore the eerie corners of Bangladeshi folklore and human fear.
“This isn’t your typical ghost story,” Shakib hinted on the podcast. “It’s about the kind of darkness that lives among us; in faith, in guilt, in memory.”
The film features an ensemble cast led by Siam Ahmed as Detective Delwar, Chanchal Chowdhury as Shamsher, Nazifa Tushi as Nadia and Mostofa Monwar as Inspector Monowar.
The lineup also includes Farrukh Ahmed Rehan (Himel), Afsana Mimi (Hazera Khatun), Gazi Rakayet (Halal), Swarnali Choity (Maya) and Tanzika Amin (Piya).
Behind the camera, Andhar brings together some of the industry’s most creative forces: Sumon Sarker as Director of Photography, Shihab Nurun Nabi as Art Director, Anika Zareen overseeing costumes, Sworna Bhoumick leading prosthetics and Ahsan Habib Shawon heading VFX.
Music will be composed by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, while Mohammad Tarek handles makeup and hair design.
The screenplay, co-written by Shakib Chowdhury, Bassbaba Sumon (Aurthohin), and Adnan Adib Khan, fuses psychological tension, crime and the supernatural into what promises to be one of Rafi’s most ambitious projects yet.
