Police detained eight individuals on Thursday in separate incidents while they attempted to pay tribute at the National Memorial or take part in rallies organised by the Awami League, whose political activities are currently banned.

Earlier in the morning, five more individuals, including a government employee, were detained in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar following a flash procession.
Around 9:30am, a group of 15-20 people began a march from the BTRC area in Agargaon.
