With hearts full of courage and eyes set on conquering the sky, 54 paratroopers soared into the void from an altitude of 12,000 feet, carrying red and green national flag.
The simultaneous jump by such a large number of paratroopers bearing the national flag marks a world first.
The historic display took place around 12pm on Tuesday, as the skies above the National Parade Ground drew the attention Muhammad Yunus and other invited guests.
One after another, the 54 paratroopers jumped through the vastness of the sky, creating a moment that will stand as a symbol of record, honour, courage and capability.
The programme was dedicated to the six members of the peacekeeping force who were recently martyred in Sudan.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chairman Ashik Chowdhury’s helmet featured a painted image of revolutionary youth Sharif Osman Hadi.
Earlier, various fighter aircraft and helicopters of the Bangladesh Armed Forces staged visually striking aerial manoeuvres, demonstrating combat drills, including techniques used to evade enemy radar systems and strike targets during wartime.
The event concluded with a graceful performance by the Armed Forces band, which welcomed the invited guests with melodious and ceremonial tunes.
