The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 439 people during regular drives conducted across the capital over the past 24-hours.
A total of 31 cases were filed at various police stations in connection with the operations.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the DMP on Thursday.
According to the DMP, the arrestees include 28 from Ramna Division, 57 from Lalbagh Division, 37 from Wari Division, 55 from Motijheel Division, 79 from Tejgaon Division, 96 from Mirpur Division, 28 from Gulshan Division, 38 from Uttara Division, 20 from the Detective Branch (DB), and one from the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Division.
During the operations, police seized 152 kilogrammes and 150 grammes of cannabis, 7,028 Yaba tablets, and 175 grammes of heroin.
Additionally, police recovered 13 mobile phones, one motorcycle, one dagger, one ramda (machete), one chapati (cleaver), two Swiss Gear knives, one microbus, and one private car.
The DMP said the drives were carried out across different police station areas in the capital to apprehend suspects as well as recover narcotics and incriminating evidence.
Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway.
