Twenty-one high-ranking officials of the BCS (Police) cadre have been reshuffled through transfers and new postings.
Officials affected by this move include those holding the ranks of additional inspector general (AIG), deputy inspector general (DIG), Additional DIG, and superintendent of police (SP).
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Police-1 branch issued a notification regarding these changes on Sunday. Signed by Deputy Secretary Touhid Ahmad by order of the President, the proclamation stated that the order is issued in the public interest and will take effect immediately.
Promotions and key postings
According to the notification, DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman has been promoted to the rank of Additional IG and posted to Police Headquarters.
NSI Director (DIG) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has been promoted to Additional IG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been elevated to Additional IG of Police Telecom.
RAB Additional Director General (DIG) Faruque Ahmed has been promoted to Additional IG of the Highway Police.
In other DIG-level postings, Pralay Chisim has been assigned to PTC Noakhali, Mia Masud Karim to the APBN’s FDMN office, Mohammad Osman Gani to PTC Rangpur, and AFM Mosharraf Hossain Miajee to PTC Khulna.
Changes in Additional DIG and SP Ranks
At the Additional DIG level, Moha. Asaduzzaman has been transferred to RAB, while AKM Akteruzzaman and Md Kutub Uddin have been moved to Police Headquarters.
Md Al Mamun has been appointed as the Commandant of the 2nd APBN, Sarkar Mohammad Kayser has been posted to PSTS Betbunia, and Mohammad Mohibul Islam Khan has been transferred to the Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA), Sardah.
Additionally, Additional DIG Md Abdul Warish has been posted to PTC Rangpur, and Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been attached to the Barishal Range DIG office.
Regarding the Superintendent of Police (SP) level, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir has been posted to Police Headquarters, and Md Zahidur Rahman to BPA Sardah. Salma Syed Poly has been attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office, while Md Shahidul Islam and Md Kamruzzaman have been attached to the Barishal Range DIG office.
