A total of 20 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed across key locations in the capital to ensure security during the celebration of the Bengali New Year.
The BGB announced the deployment in a press release issued on Tuesday.
The move aims to facilitate the celebration of the traditional Bengali New Year 1433 with due dignity and in a festive atmosphere by strengthening security at various important points in Dhaka.
To ensure spontaneous public participation and a smooth celebration of Pohela Baishakh, BGB members are performing duties at several major sites, including Ramna Batamul and its surrounding areas, Hotel InterContinental, Kakrail, Matsya Bhaban, the Engineers Institution gate, Doel Chattar, Shahbagh National Museum, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, Chhayanaut’s venue at Ramna Batamul, Ramna Mancha, and Rabindra Shorobor in Dhanmondi.
The BGB is working in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to maintain overall security in the capital.
The force has urged all citizens to celebrate the New Year in a peaceful, disciplined, and safe environment.
