Two people were killed and ten others injured on Tuesday in a head-on collision between two buses on the Pabna-Dhaka highway.
Madhpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Mustafizar Rahman confirmed the incident.
The accident occurred around 7:15am near Sholabaria Bridge in Santhia upazila.
OC Mustafizar said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of Shahzadpur Travels collided head-on with a Machranga Paribahan bus coming from the opposite direction.
He added, “The names and identities of the deceased or injured are not yet known. However, among the two deceased, one is the driver of Shahzadpur Travels and the other is the helper of Machranga Paribahan.”
Police and locals rescued the injured and took them to different hospitals. Later, one of the victims succumbed to his injuries at Pabna General Hospital.
