A total of 18,489 Bangladeshi pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia during the first four days of Hajj travel, according to the latest Hajj bulletin.

They travelled on 46 flights, with arrivals recorded until 10am Tuesdau, said Lokman Hossain, director of the Bangladesh Hajj Office.

He added that 78,500 pilgrims from Bangladesh are permitted to perform Hajj this year. Of them, 660 agencies are overseeing arrangements under the private scheme, including 30 lead agencies and 630 coordinating agencies.

According to airline-wise data, 7,018 pilgrims arrived on 17 flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 6,634 on 17 flights of Saudi Airlines and 4,837 on 12 flights of Flynas Airlines.

The remaining Hajj pilgrims will reach gradually with designated airlines, the director said.

According to hajj office information, a total of 4,565 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government management and 73,935 under the private arrangement.

Subject to moon sighting, the holy Hajj will be held in Saudi Arabia on 26 May.
