17 admitted with measles, 1 dead in 24 hrs in Ctg

In the last 24 hours, 17 more children with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals in Chattogram. Among them, 15 are from the metropolitan area and 2 from various upazilas.

This information was provided in a report signed by Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Jahangir Alam on Sunday.

The report stated that on the previous day, Saturday, an additional 28 people with the same symptoms were admitted to hospitals.

According to the latest data, a total of 95 people have now been admitted to hospitals in Chattogram with suspected measles. Of these, 93 are in the metropolitan area and 2 at the upazila level.

Among them, measles has been confirmed in 14 individuals so far. Of those confirmed, 8 are residents of the metropolitan area and 6 are from upazilas.

The report further stated that samples from 20 new individuals have been sent for testing in the last 24 hours. Among them, 15 are from the metropolitan area and 5 from upazilas.

Meanwhile, 11 patients have been discharged from hospitals after completing treatment.

One child admitted with suspected measles has died at Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital. The report noted that the deceased child’s permanent address was in Cox’s Bazar.
