No astrologer or intelligence agency in the world had thought that Awami League would flee and depart in this manner, Minister for Religious Affairs Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad said on Thursday.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting and prize distribution ceremony held at Central Auditorium of Jagannath University (JnU) to mark Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).
Recalling the events of 1975, the minister said a few officers caused a massive event while a huge Rakkhi Bahini, which was waiting to protect Sheikh Mujib, his family, and Awami League, did not make a sound. He added that whatever Allah wills happens.
Kaikobad further said that the life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) serves as an excellent model for Muslims, adding that success in this world and the hereafter is achievable by following his life according to the Quran and Sunnah.
Addressing the ceremony, Director General of Islamic Foundation Mufti Muhammad Muhibbullahil Baqi Nadvi said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is an ideal not only for Muslims but also for teachers.
He emphasised acquiring knowledge that benefits society and spoke on ensuring the safety of non-Muslims and animals.
JnU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Rais Uddin said Eid-e-Miladunnabi should be observed to mark the birth of the Holy Prophet.
Competitions in Hamd, Naat-e-Rasul, Qirat, and essay writing were organised as part of the observance, followed by the distribution of crests among the winners.
Moderated by Acting Registrar Professor Sheikh Md Gias Uddin, the programme was attended by JnU Treasurer Professor Sabina Sharmin, alongside teachers, officers, employees, and students.
