A Dhaka court has ordered the freezing of 13 bank accounts belonging to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s military adviser Tariq Ahmed Siddique, his wife, and daughter.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib issued the order on Wednesday following an application by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The investigating officer’s application stated that the accounts — held under the names of Tariq Ahmed Siddique, his wife Shaheen Siddique, and daughter Nurin Siddique at various banks — contain deposits totaling over Tk6.79 crore.
Earlier on January 27, the ACC had filed four separate cases against Tariq Ahmed Siddique and 18 others, accusing them of embezzling Tk812 crore from four airport development projects across three airports in the country.
