Government employees may have the opportunity to enjoy a continuous 10-day break during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr by combining official holidays with additional casual leave.
According to the official holiday list, Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be celebrated on Saturday, 21 March, depending on the sighting of the moon. The government has already designated a five-day holiday for the festival, starting from Thursday, 19 March, and continuing until Monday, 23 March.
Ahead of the festival, there is a public holiday for Shab-e-Qadr on Tuesday, 17 March. If an employee takes one day of casual leave on Wednesday, 18 March, they can secure a seven-day vacation from 17 March to 23 March.
The opportunity for a longer break arises due to the Independence Day holiday on Thursday, 26 March, which is followed by the weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, 27 and 28 March.
By taking two days of casual leave on Tuesday, 24 March, and Wednesday, 25 March, government staff can enjoy a total of 10 consecutive days of leave, spanning from 19 March to 28 March.
