Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s wife Zubaida Rahman, and daughter Zaima Rahman shared Iftar with the orphaned students of a madrasa on Thursday.

According to the BNP Media Cell, they joined the orphans at the Jamia Qurbania Talimia Dawra Hadith Mohila Madrasa and Orphanage in West Bhasantek on the first day of Ramadan. Before Iftar, both Zubaida and Zaima spent time speaking and exchanging greetings with the students.

Tarique Rahman, the lawmaker for the Dhaka-17 constituency, has directed the local BNP to provide Iftar, dinner, and Sehri to 14 orphanages and Hafezia madrasas across the Korail slum and Bhasantek areas throughout the entire month of Ramadan.

In previous years, BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the party’s central leadership traditionally hosted an Iftar programme for orphans and Ulema-Mashayekh on the first day of Ramadan.

Although no such central event was organised this year, the local BNP will be arranging Iftar gatherings every day during the holy month.
