Dhallywood actor Zayed Khan is set to make his debut as the lead model in a large-scale music video with Shikari, which is scheduled to be released on YouTube today.
The actor, who has been living in the United States for an extended period, has recently remained in the spotlight for his stage performances, dance moves and signature backflips.
This time, however, it is his new music video that has caught attention.
Promoting Shikari on social media for several days, Zayed described the project as a new experience in his career.
“Sports cars, motorcycles, Russian models, shooting at locations used in Hollywood films—what isn’t there in my song!” he said.
The actor said he agreed to the project after hearing about its scale and production plans.
“I can guarantee that people won’t laugh after watching this song. No one from our country has worked on something of this scale. That is why I agreed as soon as I heard about the project. It was shot entirely in a Hollywood style,” Zayed said.
Having spent considerable time in the United States, he said working in a Hollywood-style production had been something he wanted to experience.
“I had been missing the opportunity to work in a Hollywood style. Now I can say that I have done it. The audience will understand that when they watch the song,” he added.
The music video was filmed at several locations across the United States, including New York and Philadelphia.
Zayed said the production received more time and resources than a typical film song.
“This song is a completely new experience for me. We don’t even spend this much time on a song in a film. Our films are rarely shot at such beautiful locations either,” he said.
Zayed also expressed hope that the video would appeal to both Bangladeshi and expatriate audiences.
Shikari features vocals by Sajib Das and Sanjida Rimi.
Zayed appears alongside seven local and international models, including Bangladeshi model Yasmin, Americans Nina and Mariana, and Russians Julia, Carla, Kamila and Milana.
The song was filmed last month. Rohan Billal served as choreographer, while Badruddoza Sagor directed the music video.
Shikari will be released on the Ludu Music YouTube channel.
