Actresses Deepa Khandakar and Adhora Khan will portray a mother and daughter in director Zahid Hossain’s upcoming film ‘Ritukamini’, which is now being prepared for release.

Deepa, who has earned praise for her performances as a mother in several television dramas, will take on the role in the film, with Adhora playing her daughter, Kumkum.

Speaking from Canada on Wednesday morning, Adhora said the director was preparing for the film’s release and that it could reach cinemas next month if everything goes according to plan. Fazlur Rahman Babu, Abdun Noor Shajal and others have also appeared in various roles.

Deepa said she was impressed by the story and believes audiences will develop an emotional connection with her character. She praised Zahid Hossain’s approach to bringing each character to life and commended Adhora’s performance.

Adhora, meanwhile, described Deepa as one of her favourite actors and said she was delighted to have worked with her, especially in a mother-daughter pairing. She also thanked Zahid Hossain for giving her the challenging role of Kumkum, which she said required considerable effort and dedication.

Adhora added that she would return to Bangladesh once the film’s release date is finalised.
