The Bangladesh Cricket Board has delayed the start of the Women’s Bangladesh Premier League. The first season will now take place from 10 to 21 July 2026.

The event was first planned for 3 to 15 April. BCB shared the new schedule in a media release on Wednesday.

The board said it spoke with possible team owners and other key people before making the decision. It wants to give teams more time to prepare.

Teams will need time to build their squads and sign overseas players. They also need time to plan other parts of the event.

The new window also fits better with the global cricket calendar. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup will take place in June. Because of this change, more foreign players may be able to join the league.
