Members of Parliament elected from reserved women’s seats in the 13th National Parliament paid tributes at the graves of late President Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The MPs, including Selima Rahman, Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Nipun Roy Chowdhury, Fahima Nasrin, Sanjida Islam Tuli and Mansura Akhter among others from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and independent alliance, paid their respects at the graves.
Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and National Parliament Chief Whip Md Nurul Islam accompanied the newly elected women MPs during the tribute.
The delegation observed a moment of silence and offered prayers seeking forgiveness for the departed souls.
