A woman was found dead beside railway track in Nilphamari on Saturday morning, police said.
The identity of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed.
Locals suspect that the woman, aged around 45, might have been hit and killed by a train. However, it remains unclear which train ran over her or when the accident occurred, they said.
Upon being informed, Mahmud Un Nabi, officer-in-charge of Syedpur Railway Police Station, visited the spot and recovered the body from the Kadikhol area in Sadar upazila.
The body was taken to the police station.
Police said preparations are underway to file an unnatural death case.
