Bangladesh will embark on a demanding Asia Cup Super Fours campaign in Dubai, with three high-stakes matches against Sri Lanka, India and Pakistan set to determine their fate in the tournament.
The Tigers open their schedule on 20 September against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Stadium, before facing India on 24 September and arch-rivals Pakistan the very next day. All matches begin at 8:30 PM BST.
The Super Fours format has often proved a stumbling block for Bangladesh. Despite reaching three Asia Cup finals in 2012, 2016 and 2018, their path has usually been marked by inconsistency at this stage of the competition. The Tigers will look to turn the tide and show they can compete on equal footing.
Bangladesh’s mix of senior experience and youthful energy may yet be their strongest asset. Litton, along with Towhid Hridoy and the in-form batters, will need to anchor the innings, while the bowling will rely on the guile of spinners and the discipline of a seam attack still searching for consistency.
