India’s ninth Asia Cup title was matched by several standout individual performances, with young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma emerging as the tournament’s top scorer and Player of the Tournament.
Abhishek led the run charts with a total of 314 runs. He showcased impressive consistency throughout the competition, scoring three consecutive fifties in the Super Four stage and performing steadily during the group phase. With a strike rate of 200, he struck 32 fours and 19 sixes.
Close behind him was Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka, who scored 261 runs at a strike rate of 160.12. He registered the tournament’s only century along with two fifties but was unable to add more after Sri Lanka failed to reach the final.
Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan was third on the list, amassing 217 runs across seven innings at a strike rate of 116.04. He played a crucial 58-run knock in the final and had also scored a fifty against India earlier in the Super Four stage.
Tilak Varma of India followed closely with 213 runs at an average of 71. He was named Player of the Match in the final for his 69 off 53 balls. Fakhar Zaman completed the top five with 181 runs from seven matches.
On the bowling front, India’s Kuldeep Yadav was the standout performer. The left-arm wrist-spinner took 17 wickets in seven matches, conceding only 6.27 runs per over. His performance included four wickets in the final, sealing his place as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi took 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.60, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker. UAE’s Junaid Siddique, despite missing the Super Four stage, claimed nine wickets in three matches, securing third place.
Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman also picked up nine wickets, ending his campaign after six matches as Bangladesh exited in the Super Four. Rounding out the top five was Pakistan’s Haris Rauf, who took nine wickets at an average of 18.33 across five matches, though he struggled in the final.
